Tarek Maassarani

Tarek Maassarani is a mission-driven attorney, program strategist, and project director with over 20 years of experience leading federally funded initiatives at the intersection of justice, equity, and climate resilience. As CEO of Geopolymer International, he brings his legal, policy, and systems expertise to advance sustainable infrastructure solutions, focusing on fire-resistant, non-toxic, and low-carbon geopolymer materials. Under his leadership, the company has delivered successful pilot projects– including Nevada’s first 3D-printed geopolymer houses–and expanded partnerships with public and private stakeholders aligned with HUD’s decarbonization and resilience goals. Prior to GPI, Tarek led large-scale civic engagement and peacebuilding programs funded by USAID and the State Department across Africa, Afghanistan, and U.S. military bases. He also co-founded Restorative DC and served as co-director of Central Virginia Community Justice, where he built restorative diversion models in collaboration with schools and prosecutors. His experience designing cross-sector initiatives, coordinating multi-agency teams, and securing institutional buy-in informs his strategic approach to scaling GPI’s impact on sustainable construction. |
