Stella Napanu Loronyokwe
Conservation Scientist | National Conservancies Youth Forum
Stella is a highly motivated conservation scientist with over eight years of experience leading impactful environmental projects across Kenya. Specializing in Natural Climate Solutions (NCS), carbon initiatives, and environmental and social safeguards, she is deeply committed to advancing community-led conservation grounded in Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). Stella works closely with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) to promote inclusive climate action, gender equity, and sustainable natural resource management.
A proud member of the Indigenous Samburu community, Stella brings cultural sensitivity and a global perspective to her work with diverse communities. As Chairperson of the National Conservancies Youth Forum under the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA), she advocates for youth engagement in conservation and represents young leaders at national forums and on the KWCA board.
In addition to her scientific expertise, Stella is also an artist who bridges the worlds of environmental advocacy and the visual and performing arts. She uses creative storytelling to foster eco-literacy and make complex climate issues accessible to local communities.
Her multidisciplinary approach is grounded in strong technical skills in research, project management, governance, and climate finance, and informed by extensive knowledge of Kenyan ecosystems, wildlife, and community conservancies.
