Sailesh Rao

Sailesh Rao is a systems engineer who has spent the past two decades studying and modeling the solution space for addressing the environmental and social justice challenges facing humanity. In his previous career as a systems engineer, he designed the protocol for transforming analog internet connections to digital versions, while accelerating their speed tenfold.

He currently views his mission as designing a protocol for transforming a climate-heating, resource-extracting civilization built on several foundational falsehoods, such as the belief that protein is only found in animal foods, calcium is only found in dairy foods, human well-being requires unfettered economic growth, and that fossil fuel combustion is the leading cause of the nature and climate crisis.

Sailesh advocates for a shift toward a climate-healing, planet-restoring civilization grounded in foundational truths: that all plant foods contain all amino acids, consuming enough calories provides sufficient calcium, human well-being necessitates a sense of purpose, and that ending animal husbandry is the leading solution to the nature and climate crisis.
