Ruben Daniels

Ruben Daniels is a seasoned entrepreneur and technology leader with a career spanning cloud computing, developer tools, and user-centric platforms. He co-founded Cloud9 IDE, one of the first cloud-based integrated development environments, which was later acquired by Amazon Web Services, where he served as General Manager of Cloud9. Earlier ventures included founding Javeline/Ajax.org, co-founding Helder Hosting, and directing Virtual Cowboys, giving him a deep foundation in web technologies and hosting infrastructure. Educated at TU Delft in the Netherlands, Ruben has long been at the forefront of technological shifts, from the early adoption of AJAX to cloud-native software development.

After closing his most recent venture, Memri, which explored data sovereignty and privacy-preserving AI, Ruben is now focused on Allelo. At Allelo, he applies his technical expertise and systems-level thinking to advance regenerative, community-driven solutions designed to empower individuals and organizations in the digital age. Across his career, Ruben has remained committed to creating technology that resists surveillance, increases transparency, and enhances human agency, while enabling more equitable and resilient systems for the future.
