Marc Friedrich Leiber
Agronomist
This event was recommended to me by my dear friend Rico Paganini. I am an active member of the United World Movement where I am responsible for the regenerative agriculture and forestry departments.
After having completed my training in Agriculture I started a research and education farm in southern Portugal to apply Principles and Techniques for regenerative agriculture and agroforestry developed by Ernst Götsch. Götsch was my teacher during nine months of my formal training, where I lived with him on his farm in Bahia, Brazil. He has since supported me in the development of my farm.
Since having begun my project there have been ~150000 trees planted into diverse agroforestry systems, with already notable impact on soil, biodiversity, and climate. I have received over 250 students in training events, and a total of ~3000 visitors have explored my site.
Currently I am working with world renowned water cycle restoration expert, Zach Weiss, to implement a water retention landscape on my farm, which will be completely integrated into the agroforestry systems.
My goal is to create practical and scalable models of real world solutions, that feed and nourish people and the environments. For this reason I would love to participate in this event, as I believe that the networking opportunities will be of immense value to continue my work.
