Marc Friedrich Leiber
Agronomist | Growback
Marc is a regenerative agriculture practitioner and educator, currently leading the agriculture and forestry departments of the United World Movement. With a deep commitment to ecological restoration, Marc founded a research and education farm in southern Portugal, where he applies and evolves the principles of regenerative agroforestry developed by his mentor, Ernst Götsch. Trained directly by Götsch during an intensive nine-month residency in Brazil, Marc continues to collaborate closely with him on farm development and ecosystem design.
Since the farm’s inception, Marc has planted over 150,000 trees within diverse agroforestry systems, resulting in measurable improvements in soil health, biodiversity, and microclimate. His work has attracted more than 3,000 visitors and over 250 students through training programs designed to spread scalable, nature-based solutions. He is currently collaborating with globally recognized water cycle restoration expert Zach Weiss to develop a fully integrated water retention landscape on the farm.
Marc’s mission is to create living models of regenerative systems that nourish both people and the planet. Through his hands-on work and educational outreach, he aims to inspire and implement real-world solutions that are both practical and scalable.
