Maks is an urban tree rescuer and inventor, renowned for creating HERBAFERTILĀ®, a patented soil bio stimulant developed in Croatia and protected across the EU and USA. Dedicated to preserving mature urban trees, Maks focuses on revitalizing those stressed by climate change, soil compaction, construction damage, and neglect. He believes true sustainability begins not with planting new trees, but with saving and restoring the ones already growing.
As founder and owner of Herbafertil Ltd. and Herbafarm-magnolija Ltd. in Zagreb, Maks pioneered the innovative DRILL 2 FILLĀ® method, which revitalizes underground root systems by delivering nutrients deep into the soil without disturbing tree stability. His work has transformed urban tree care across Europe, reducing tree removals and irrigation costs while enhancing tree resilience against environmental stress.
Maks serves on the Supervisory Board of the Croatian Arboricultural Society and collaborates closely with leading forestry institutions to advance preventive arboriculture as a climate-adaptive, cost-effective solution.
