Helen Derbew

Some general information about me is that I moved to the United States from East Africa when I was about five years old and have lived in the US since. Coming from a family with a strong passion for justice and history of moving forward toward progress, I was always interested in global and environmental issues. My goal in life is to create a positive change in the world through learning and growing as an individual. This goal has led me to living in rural Central America to working in poverty stricken areas in the United States. I am currently an educator working to teach children academics alongside social emotional skills and soft skills.
